Join us on Saturday, May 19th, 2018 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at Colorado Adventure Point and earn the Welding Merit Badge.

This course will provide a hands-on introduction to the principals of MIG welding. MIG welders us a feeding wire as the electrode, providing the current and filler metal with a single trigger pull, joining ferrous metarls with bonds that are stronger than the metal itself. MIG welding at Colorado Adventure Point uses flux core wire, removing the need for argon gas as a shield. This type of gasless MIG welding is a useful, low cost hobby. During the four hours at CAP, participants will learn basic concepts of welding and practice setting voltage and wire feed speed, as well as practice different types of welds. A variety of metal thicknesses and old car parts will allow everyone to express their learning and the artistic side.

Please note the following:

Lunch is not included.

Scout should bring a signed Blue Card, as some requirements for welding merit badge will be met.

This class will be held at Colorado Adventure Point. Colorado Adventure Point is located on the west side of Hamilton Scout Headquarters.
